BTF Joins GHBA and Industry Partners to Bring a Successful Construction Hiring Event to Houston

The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) and a coalition of building industry partners held a Construction Hiring Event at Gallery Furniture’s WorkTexas facility on July 28 in Houston, Tex. GHBA joined WorkTexas, HomeAid Houston’s HomeAid Works, Building Talent Foundation (BTF), Home Builders Institute (HBI), Habitat for Humanity, and Houston Community College (HCC), to host a job fair attended by 25 employer companies.

BTF was honored to participate in GHBA’s event. The employer companies in attendance were looking for new employees ready to work and open to be trained or certified for positions in the industry.

There were many opportunities for job seekers and employers to connect.

·  90 job seekers attended in person.

·  265 registered as job seekers via the GHBA pre-registration link.

·  Over 300 open job positions were available.

“BTF is proud to support GHBA’s efforts to build the residential construction talent pool in the Houston area,” said Branka Minic, CEO of BTF. “The residential construction industry is on the cusp of a crisis. BTF’s goal is to strengthen the residential construction workforce, and that mission is more attainable when we work together with industry partners like GHBA. Thank you, GHBA, for the opportunity to join forces and amplify each other’s voices.”
